I need more light in the back of my 2023 vito. I've hot some led lights. Question is ...can I wire these directly to the existing light in the back. And how.... as the led hais a 2 core cable, and the vito iterier light has 3 cables. Help please 🙏

Yes you can as the led lights hardly take any current.
Just wire the new leds to the two wires that connect to the bulb on the existing interior light and you should be good to go.
Make sire the new ones are connected the right way round as leds are polarity sensitive.
The third wire will go to a door switch or manual switch, but wiring across the bulb will bring the new ones on exactly as the original.
Hope that makes sense 👍🏻👍🏻

I'm assuming yours is a simple set up, as there are options that have map lights, and ambient lights. I haven't a clue how the 2023 Vito is configured.

As said wire to the existing light.
The switched feed will be from the SAM, don't be looking for door switches they're gonna be within the lock mechanism.

The -ve will be brown.
There will be a permanent +ve
t'other should be the switched +ve, but I have seen the -ve as switched.

On mine the rear lights will time out after 20 minutes, so if I want longer I need close / open a door again, but that then only provides another few minutes.

There are LED units available that would pick up all 3 wires from the existing. Then you would have choice to just switch it on when needed.

Mercedes are very tight with the lighting in the back of their Vitos aren't they, especially compared to the Ford Transits we also have on the fleet that come with multiple LED fittings in the back of those as standard. I replaced the dim incandescent W5W bulb with a high light output W5W LED side light bulb in mine. I find it adequate now.

Yep. Transits lit up like Blackpool.

I paid the £100 option for LED lighting in the back of my Vito. It’s about 8” long and as bright as a child’s birthday cake just before blowout. 🙄
