Help - my tyre has shredded on on one side

Problem with runflats is that people think they can run them flat and get away with it. Sure you can drive on them when de-inflated or on very low pressure for about 50 odd miles --maybe more - but in the process they are irreparably damaged This may not be immediately apparent but the damage is there all the same . Your tyre has all the appearance of a runflat that has been "run flat " sometime in the past before you bought the car.

I would drive it for a tyre, if you hadn't washed the car you wouldn't have been any wiser
It should last another 20 minute steady smooth drive.

One of the problems with run-flats is they cannot deform and adopt the vertical camber lean. On BMW's i had to write new settings to stop them doing exactly what your tyre has.
