HELP navigation problems...

Hi,

We have 1 year old C Class 350CDI and sometimes while driving the navigation system dissepear, like it is not seeing the satellite ??

any advice and I will suppose the warranty will apply if there is a problem.

All I can suggest is try to capture some videos of the problem — obviously not holding camera whilst driving!

Sounds like a dodgy system, but that's the sort of fault that never occurs in the 5-minute test drive the car will get, so you'll waste a day to be told "could not reproduce fault". Some videos will back up your case.

What do mean by 'disappear'?

If you mean that the Sat Nav screen freezes up and grey's out a bit but a picture remains then it's just lost it's signal for a moment or two, not uncommon especially in built up Cities.


If you mean the whole screen goes blank then you have a problem, either a loose connection of an internal fault etc

Actually it should be 'seeing' several satellites, I've seen as many as 7, and seldom less than 4, indicated on my 2007 Comand. So it unlikely to be switching off because its lost a satellite.
