Not sure if in the right section. Sorry if not.

As some knows, I have just taken delivery of a 2003 W211 E55.

In the boot, next to the battery under the carpet, there is supposed to be a tray that covers the TyreFit Kit and Battery, but is missing. Everything is now exposed and gives my wife the creeps that something may come in contact with the battery terminals!

I have been in contact with MB Colchester and we are having trouble locating the part number for this.

The tray has a round well in it, looks almost like a wheel. But not a big as a normal wheel due to the size (huge!!) of the high capacity battery.

Would anyone happen to know?

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, this one does not show the one either......

On the first description, it should have been on there I think. According to dealer, it only goes on the E55's. We tried, just to make sure, with the boot tray from a E320 Cdi, but nope, didn't fit.

On the E55 the battery (very large one) sits closer and parallel with the back of the backseats. In the E320 Cdi the battery is located to the right, next to the wheel.

What I am after is the tray that covers the battery and is rectangular with a round shape inside (moulded to form the tray). It sits secure with 2 screw fittings (white I think) and needs to be removed in order to get to the battery. The boot carpet is then above this.

Does that help a little?

Thanks again.

Patrik

All you need is for a W211 E55 owner to pull the plastic moulding off their car and read the part number from the back!

Scorcher has one, as does andy_cyp.

It'd be jolly unsportsman-like if they refused to help you! Good luck with your search!

Is it shown on here?

The first link to detali EPC shows the tire fit holder parts. If you do not mean these, can you post a photo of your car showing the missing part (how should I say it, you probably cannot take a photo from the actual missing part  ). I should have the same stuff on my car with tyre fit, I could find the part number there but really it should also come from EPC if we can figure out which part you are after actually.

Perhaps it's 150 in post#8?

Will do once I am back from my trip to Lincolnshire and Birmingham.

This is the only mention of a battery cover I can find - #140

Another guess, part number 40 after all from the first link?

The lining to the right from the tyre fit set/tool set in the figure.

The trunk may look very different on different W211 sedan cars depending on if the car has a spare wheel. Even the battery is differently placed if there is a wheel or not.

That is exactly what I am looking for, although it is not, as we though "40".

Dealer tried with one from a E320 Cdi, didn't fit due to the placement of the battery. Mine's horizontal near the axel and the Cdi version's battery sits diagonal to the right.

Getting really difficult...... need to find an E55. Other members contacted.

Thanks.

No, it isn't about the CDI, my E320 CDI has the battery like you have on your car. The battery is placed differently when one has the spare wheel, like I mentioned previously. I'll have a look at this but I believe it is part number 40 but there are different options for that part, depending on the car options (tyre fit etc.). Also the Russian EPC may not cover all existing parts.

This is how my W211 trunk looks like. Clearly your car is missing part of the lining. The part number at my car is A211 690 4825 (with colour code).

Note that the lining does not cover the tyre fit box and the tool box but the battery and all the wiring would be safe as your wife wanted.
