Hello gents,
I have some serious issues with my 2005 320 CLS V6 Diesel and I would really use some help.
Initially few weeks ago the check engine oil at next fueling message kept appearing and when checking the oil level(manually) it was all good.
A couple of days after that I had oil all over the engine coming from the oil filler cap. I thought it was the cap and the oil/air separation valve which I have changed both. I also noticed some black deposit on top of two injectors and I tried changing the copper seal, but no joy as I could NOT get the injectors out of the sockets.
No issues after that. It would have been great is it all stopped here, but it's not all.
One week after the check oil level indicator was up again. Checked the oil and it's all good.
When idling in traffic jams(Leamington, Coventry area) I noticed exhaust fumes and smell in the cabin/cockpit and when I turn the air con off I can see smoke coming from underneath the car(mid section area). With the air con on I cannot breath in the car.
Anyone can tell me what's wrong or a good place I can have it checked and sorted in the Midlands area please(not Mercedes garage as they are not too good my experience with Mercedes Inchape Coventry was not so good. They don't know what they talk about and charge you loads of money for it).

Thanks,
Cezar.

Would have thought that Mercland in Nuneaton would be the place to go to have it checked

The fuel/exhaust fumes smell in the cabin is a pretty good sign of black death, or injector seals for people not into MB terms. Blowback of exhaust fumes is escaping due to the seals going. As for the smoke coming out, not sure, but it could be related.

It was just a copper seal of one of the injector. 30 minutes job done by a good specialist and £1.5 seal.
That was very easy and now the car runs perfect no flaws.

I am thinking in the back of my head for a future 3.5L Petrol CLS...it's just a thought now any tips or hints?

Same shape as yours, camshaft and tensioner problems for the most part.

New shape, those issues seem to be ironed out, or very rare to come across, but good luck finding petrols in the first place.

Found some ..same shape as mine...
