Really hoping someone can help me, my battery ran out on my remote on the key so I changed it but managed to break it, I’ve got two keys but the one I never used doesn't open the car as it is not tuned into the immobiliser frequency.

I went to Mercedes about it and they said they wanted me to bring the car in for diagnostics, I tried to explain I new the problem was I broke the remote, anyway I rung for a new key and they said £100+VAT and when I get the key a sales person would run through how to tune it to the immobiliser frequency.

Does anyone here know how you tune them so that I can try to tune the other key I already have?

Any help is really appreciated thanks

Thanks fo that i'll give it a try and hopefully it will work. Will let you know how I get on.

Thanks the key has now tuned into the right frequency but the remote keeps loosing power from the batteries in it so have bought new ones to put in encase the other new ones are faulty.

Prices must have sharply increased - before it was around £60 plus VAT...
