Help with A160 please

Hi There.
Sorry to sound a bit dumb, but was wondering if anyone could help regarding my a class. It''s started making a clunking/knocking noise. It''s not just when i''m turning left or right, or even when i go over a bump. It can happen when i''m driving in a straight line and for no apparent reason. I''ve had the springs checked and they''re fine. It''s driving me mad. Has or does anyone know of this problem.
