My horn on my w209 cab doesnt seem to be working.

So I thought I would check the fuse, but my drawing of all the fuses and locations doesnt actually show the horn fuse.

Can anyone help me with this or know where to look? Or should I take it back to the stealer to sort?

Horn fuse

Hi Thom

This may be a bit late for you but the horn is called "fanfare" in the list of fuses. The fuse is no 43 in the fuse box under the bonnet (above drivers feet). Looking from the front the horn fuse is the back row right hand side. It is a blue (15A) fuse.

Hi Thom

I wish my horn did not work. For a big hunky car MB for some reason have put a really panzy Fanfare on my car. Its so bad, that I'm ashamed to use it, I've even seen a few people have a good giggle at my horn!!

It does not HOOT but just gives out a little beep

You should hear the one on my Renault Megan more an apology than a "GET OUT THE WAY" still it is French. The one on my W203 is pretty good it makes my kids jump when they help me clean the car:D

I was forced off the motorway and onto the hard shoulder by someone who simply didn't check their blindspot when attempting to change lane and I applied equal force to the horn and the brake while steering into the hard shoulder.

I wish I'd just applied the brakes now, the horn was pitiful, but I do have an MOT test that says one of the horns isn't working so maybe if both tones were firing it'd sound more butch.

Thanks shude, I have noticed that there are 2 horns on mine, never occurred to me that one of them may not be working. I'll have a look at it over the weekend.

Get yourself a pair of PIAA Sport Horns (low pitch).

Less than £30 and a damn sight better than the weedy "maaaaaaahhhh" efforts supplied which do sound utterly pathetic but no doubt conform to some very important Eurobabble Directive on noise pollution.
