Hi All

I think I got the biger O-ring, there is one thats about twice the size of most of the others.
I'll post the part numbers up tomorrow if anyone is interested.
I got the main fuel filter not the one in the pump.
Isn't there another filter by the tank on the C Class ?

I know your right of course, but when you spend 100 quid a week on DERV, getting it down to a tenner would make the world of difference :bannana:

Will it kill my '03 C220 with 116k though?

Any diesel engine (allthough not many are running DPF cars yet) will run on WELL MADE biodiesel, but unless you make your own it's hard to find good quolity bio as most of the commersal stuff isn't that good,
you can test it but you'll need to know how and have some methanol to do it.

I searched for a good C250TD as these engines will run on straight veg, so if I do get a no so good batch of bio she wont suffer, but the common rail C220 would not be so forgiving.

I don't think there is an intank or near-tank fuel filter.

RE. wvo use, once you CAN make good bio, the temptation is to deliberately under-react for something like 80 to 90% conversion (saves meth and caustic and time; 15% and a lower base rate). Maybe not at these current winter temps, though.

Any chance you could er, start a thread/blog on making bio-diesel so the rest of us can understand how much the kit to do it costs, and the process...

Would also be interested in terms of costs on your merc - in terms of any additional work done that you think was down to biofuel over the years...

I don't see why not, it is going bit off topic for an inro.

What section would you like it to be in ?

Hi Starquake.
I'm not sure a bio thread is needed. Pretty much the ONLY on-line resource you need is this forum:
vegetableoildiesel.co.uk - Powered by XMB
I wish I'd discovered it before I started the bio journey, it would have saved so much time.
Many of the commercial homebrew kits are not very good value, nor safe.
You can build a brilliant one DIY for under 200 quid is you're handy that is safe in terms of fumes and chem. handling and also recovers methanol:
GL's Eco-System state diagram

Bio diesel has incurred no additional costs in terms of modifications or replacement parts due to wear so far. I've done 23K miles in 2.5 years.

You beat me by 2 minutes, Mark!
