Hi, I have just joined the forum desperate to find an answer. My 420cdi displays "warning not in park " of course I can't start it. Any suggestions please.

Initially you could try disconnecting the Neg battery lead for 10 mins or so then re connect and see iff the problem still exists, allthough it could be a deeper fault more than likely electrical which would need the vehicle to be pluged into a scanner for it to be pinpointed.
It could also be a mechanical issue eg a linkage problem, but I would do the afore mentioned first.
