I don't need it as already bought a Clio 1.2 petrol turbo to replace my disgusting child killing Euro 5 dirty diesel SUV but spotted this..... it's completely inappropriate for my needs but it's definitely got something appealing. I know pretty much sod all about minis apart from the SC being better than the turbo

eBay Mini Cooper S linky

Please tell me I'd be insane to buy it !!!!!

The r56 (2006-2013) era turbo charged Cooper S is unfortunately a really unreliable engine, best avoided! After 2013 they got the BMW (1 series) engine, rather than this one which is a Peugeot/Citroen engine :(

That's why they're (often) so cheap with (often) loads of owners! You're much safer with a regular 'Cooper'.

The supercharged r53 Cooper S is a Chrysler engine and much more reliable. Much more crashy ride though, but still very cool. I want one. Quite thirsty though, mind.

The 2013 and newer BMW 1-series engine models are much more expensive unfortunately (naturally as they're newer and had a model refresh, not just the engine).

Sorry!

I've really wanted an r56 Clubman S for years, but the horror stories are all over the web to read. Might get a regular Cooper version one day.

This particular one is a vert so still has the earlier SC Engine but coupled with the later getrag gearbox ?

Interior's a bit of a tart's handbag, though, don't you think? Then again, for only three K...

“selects all gears as it should” - Hmm, could have listed my Diesel Clubman as doing that but then it would jump out of sixth quite violently 🤪

Fwiw the interior suits it, I think.
Black would be too plain, red to loud etc,,,
Not saying that I would want it, I personally would be happier with PMP's Clio than one of those.

I'm keeping the Clio for delivery / work duties, it's a Estate but just fancied a cheap nippy fun car to bung in the garage (limited space in garage) to bring out occasionally.

I would prefer a early cooper s hatch but finding a good one now is going to be a struggle

One possibility near to me

Early one

Or a later one still with the SC engine but not such a classic look

Later one

Depends if you're looking to change your career to hairdressing!
It's a good-looking thing and personally I like the interior. But then I have zero experience of tarts handbags.😜

That won’t hang around for long with those miles at that price.

Bargain.

A good friend of mine has one with the same colour interior. She’s had it for several years and wouldn’t part with it. As far as I’m aware, it’s never let her down. Mind you, she is a glamorous beautician so it’s perhaps more suited to her than to you!

Only issue I have is due to the length of my legs I'm not going to be able to fit the 2 Daughters and the Wife in at the same time. The 2 Dogs are definitely not going to fit !

If you get it could you let me know when you could book me in for a cut and colour!!!.......or a viewing around that yet to be complete housing development!

How would these things fair living outside through our autumn/winters? Obviously it's survived 16 years just fine apparently, but I wonder how simple it is to replace the seals/roof

Seems too cheap.
I thought that.....but looking at the usual sources that seems to be about their value.
