hollow boom from rear

i have noticed over the last couple of weeks a strange hollow boom from the near side rear over bumps or braking only at low speeds 3-30 mph its like something is rolling around in the boot quite intermittent .its starting to bub me now any ideas welcome....?????

problem solved the n/s rear spring has snapped oops they even got one in at the mb dealer getting fitted in the morning

Think I've got a broken nsr spring on my E class although it's a bit intermittent, I can go for weeks without hearing it and then it'll reappear for a few bumps, never for very long though. I kept wondering where I'd heard the same sound before and then realised that it sounds exactly like the restaurant door in Jacques Tati's film Les vacances de M Hulot.
