Just got back from Paphos and couldnt believe how many six door merc limos they use out there as taxis!! They must convert standard cars as i cant believe they are all original.....
How many 6 door mercs in Cyprus??!!

We had a lift in one of those to Paphos airport as our 'private taxi' organised by our tour operator. It would have been quite interesting had we not had to share it with two other couples, and their luggage. Although it was by far one of the most unpleasant journeys I've ever had(long slow drive, no air-con, cramped etc) the car took all six of us and the driver as well as our luggage. I'm sure we could have strapped a few goats, a camel and a crate of chickens to the roof too if necessary.

Haha that sounds familiar! Who did you book with out of interest?
Think it was Thomas Cook from memory. Haven't been there since as our 'Luxury 5 Star hotel' was more like Butlins full of noisy Chavs and their grubby kids. I remember the response from their rep was along the lines of 'well what do you expect in Cyprus?'. From our point of view, a hell of a lot more considering what we paid. We also made a formal complaint about the rep when we got home, so fingers crossed, he got his ass kicked.

That sounds about right from Thomas Cook, their 5 star and everyone else who books with them are poles apart! Just wondered as i own a company that rents private apartments and private villas in Paphos so making sure it wasnt us!! The funny thing is there are some amazing hotels in Paphos, even a true 6 star so shows what Thomas Cook know!

That's not the sort of 6 door we had! Our taxi was older me - as were most of the other cars we saw there, Mercs or otherwise.
