Price of 190's

Well I remember buying mine as a company car back in 1990. I felt a real Billy Bigsh*t driving around in it too. I still remember the day it was delivered to our office in London. A dark blue 190 2Litre (Not the e version) manual (I remember that gearbox was really crap), manual windies and roof and grey cloth upholstery. Then I bought some big penta alloys from Halfords and they had to grind down the inside of the wheel arches to make them fit (Amazing wheat you do in your youth with a company car !). Anyway I still see the car G219 UST around locally, so they were obviously pretty well put together then. I think the price of mine, which was a pretty basic spec was around £15/16K then
Regards
Chris

I still remember the radio ads offering them for a remarkable £18k....

In 1987/88 a 2.0 190E with no options woulod cost you £15,300 inc taxes.
The autobox alone was a £835.28 option and ABS was £1,293.57, or if you had really deep pockets, leather sports seats, at £2,558.51.

Remember that nearly everything was an option in those days and you could spend the price of a base 300SE on a fully optioned 190E

take into account inflation and that was about £40k in today's money.

My fathers 190e 2.0 auto was purchased for about £18,500 in 1990 and today at 55,000 miles only and FSH is worth about (I think £3,500) bearing mind low lieage and immaculate condition. That's about £1,070 per year or £90 per month. It has never broken down. In my opinion worth every penny. He keeps saying the car will last longer than he does.

My Brabus 190 must have cost a small fortune. The engine was 11k plus the Getrag gear box, ABS, Bodykit, Brabus wheels 3K, Full leather another 3.5K ect. Plus the cost of a standard 190 so Brabus can replace almost everything.
What price now with 60K on the clock

it would so nice to see pictures your Brabus 190, please ;) :D ;)

Look in last years Summer GTG and you will see lots of pics of my car

My 190E with no fancy bits would have cost £21,580.59 in 1988, so say £22k in 1990!

What have you got on your car stwat? including factory speakers/aerial, armrest, met. paint, etc.,

ABS 1,293.57
Autobox 835.28
F+R windows 739.99
Sunroof 805.36

Remember, the cheapest radio/cass was £657.75 so if the car was fitted with this as well!

Interesting note, it cost as much for leather in a 190 as in a 420SEL
