My Sclass is due an "A" service, what i allways do before i take it to the Stealership for a service is to get my local Independent to check out the brakes and pads, and they needed relplaceing just the pads.


Front and Rear pads fitted at my local Independant T M Motors

Labour £ 50.00

Parts F Pads £ 58.37

" R " £ 49.06

I thougt I would find out from local Stealership what they would charge.


Supply and fit with Vat Front Pads £ 172.60

" " " Rear Pads £ 150.00

A £ 137.62 DIFFERENCE

did you get MB/AMG pads fitted by the indi?

It was a W220 S320 L Sean. The pads fitted where MB Pads.

Sounds about right to me...

Sounds about right to me... 2 hours at an indy at £25 / hour versus 2 hours at Mercedes at £85 / hour

You have to pay for their business rates, labour bill, insurance, employee benefits, healthcare plans, company cars, training, maternity (and paternity) leave, waste disposal costs & etc somehow

Bear in mind that many garages charge "book" rather than the hours they do. So the job may book at 2 hours when we all know it can be done in one
