How to get NOx sensor replaced by MB without warranty?

After my first Nox sensor issue was repaired by Mercedes, I applied on line for an extended warranty and was told it was not available for my vehicle. Just tried it again, 18 months on and still get the same message. It appears to me that once Mercedes know you're having any Nox or Adblue issues, they will not give you a warranty. Thats very reassuring I don't think.

So you want a free repair of you NOX system....the very thing that use to lower the emissions legitimately ......yet you want to claim against Mercedes for "cheating" the tests! What would you be claiming for?....what part of their "cheating" has affected your car at all or cost you anything? Jumping on the band wagon springs to mind. The only result will be pushing up the cost of future cars to cover the compensation costs.....each to their own though........ :)

You could look at it another way, Mercedes refuse to pay for a repair caused by their bad design, so you recoup your costs by joining a group claim and hope to get something back?
Not saying it's right, but Mercedes are not a shining example in any of this either.

Tbh you'd be better off just getting a warranty on these cars. Think I spent £700 on an MB warranty for 1 year and it would have otherwise cost me £1200

Nox sensor, cracked spring, ball joint all under 45k miles

Whilst I do like the car, it drives well and it's comfortable, I can't help but think its basically as unreliable as my previous Jaguar XE and a lot more unreliable than my previous W204. It also intermittently creaks inside which is annoying. I've not driven a W206 yet but Im really not sure if I'd get another Merc again
I think this is the case. On the plus side Mercedes does (perhaps more did) build some great diesel engines; the pre DPF engines like the om606, om646 and om648 are legendary, the om642 is not far behind. The woes started in a small way with the addition of the DPF and have gone seriously downhill with the adblue variants. Some of it is probably not Mercedes' fault - a lot of manufacturers are struggling with adblue system faults - but where Mercedes could make a difference is the way in which the faults are dealt with; it seems that it is either a FOC warranty or a four figure bill - whereas if there was a standard £250 charge (post warranty) to fix an emissions fault then most people would be happy.
I'm not sure the other manufacturers are any better.

Mine said something similar online. I just called them and they put one through the same day

The problem is the Nox sensor is affecting petrol cars too. Mine is a C200 petrol and it has the same bloody fault so it's not really a diesel issue

Mercedes refused point blank any goodwill when my Nox sensor went, 10 months after paying for it myself I got the 500 mile countdown. Rather than having to continually pay large sums every year for such a crap system, I got it remapped instead. If the system was reliable, I would not hesitate to keep it working, but will not pay £700 to £1200 every year to fund more profit for Mercedes and their dealers on a system that is seriously flawed.
what's the cost of a remap?

From what I read any payment is to cover the costs to the end user for fuel ,as the software update made the mpg stated figures, alot less than otherwise would of been.

Not so, the payment is for deceiving the buyer and devaluing the car.

Oh well. Hopefully I'll get a payment on both my claims. 👍

Quick question for you . Did your mpg rise following your ad blue delete and remap ?

Not much difference to be honest, definitely not a 10% improvement that most of these remap places claim. If anything, I'd guess 1 or 2 mpg worse.
