I am seeking advice of how to remove the plastic lining/Protection (?) that is placed on both sides of the rear boot lid on the vehicles body.
On my previous cars, C207, this was easily done by lifting the plastic rivets after which the plastics could be removed. And it was very much necessary
to do so. Underneath this plastic, dirt, parts of leaves, etc got trapped and formed traps that formed mud. With time, this dissolved some laquer
which lead to rust. Lucklily, I was aware of it and was able to stop the process.
The current but soon discontinued C238 also uses plastic covers but there are no rivets to hold them in place.
So my question is: How to remove them for inspection without breaking them by pulling them the wrong way?
?
