Just got some JBL speakers for the rear of the widebody.

They come with a crossover box that has to be wired in.

How do i wire this in!??

It says i must use the amp output?

This is the active sub i have
Pioneer TS-WX77A Amplified Subwoofer (200W) TS-WX77A Amplified Bass Unit

This crossover box has four wires coming out that go to the speaker and two into the box.. im assuming that just connecting these two wires to my speaker wires will not work?

Hi Jay,

The wires that normally power your speaker plug into the cross over then you sould have 2 sets of wires coming out of the cross over these go to the speakers, one set for tweets one for mid range.

Are your speakers pwered form your headunit?? in which case you shouldnt need to touch the amp.

EDIT: sorry for the crap diagram im at work and im in a rush to go home ;)

Thanks, that is what i was going to do anyway but the manual refers to getting the feed from an amp.

Yep my rear speakers are just fed from the head unit.

Hopefully they will be better than the rubbish "Juice" ones i tried first time around.

Yeah from past experiences i've found the JBLs to produce a very crisp and clean sound. Good luck with the install.

Done and sounds excellent. Im obviously not using the full potential of the speakers but they are a huge improvement.

One other question:

The Becker only seems to have a + output for the sub phono lead... It has other line outs but the sub seems to work find just connected to the one red lead!? connecting both the phono leads to the line out gives exactly the same levle of bass.

It should be fine with just the one cable as the subwoofer is mono. I myself have always seen sub outs with two cables not one. but shouldnt make a difference.

I had the same Jay with my Home Cinema set up , only one phono out on the amp for the sub , but the sub has two inputs ...

I ended up getting a splitter cable made , one plug on one end but two on the other , it wasn't expensive.

i actually have a 2 to 1 adaptor somewhere but if its not needed, may just confuse matters?

Just use one
