Today I decided to repair my door vent as the little metal clip that holds the slats in place had come off(before I bought the car).Very simple to do,not even that fiddly I thought.
Started off by removing the glove box.4 Posi screws needed to come out.
Then under the dash the vent has to come off,Just a quarter turn for this then it will pull out.
With the glove box out and the side panel off you can now see the screws and bolts that need to be removed marked with the arrows. This will allow the under side of the dash to be pulled away.
Exposing the hidden screw of the vent.
Before attempting to remove this one make sure that the vent is sealed off,and use a magnetic screwdriver to remove the screw,Only thing left is a small arm on the upper left hand of the vent on the inside that will need to be pushed up whilst pulling out the vent,It should now pull free.
Unclip this wire,Its for the light inside the dial.
The unit itself.
These need to be pushed in on both sides to split the unit.
What it looks like when apart.Easy to replace a blown bulb now.
View on underside.
This is the little piece of metal that had come off,Luckily it had dropped into a small recess before it fell into the dark void of the air ducting. Now put back in place.
Putting it all back is now a reversal of what you have already done,Easy
