I am considering an HTC handset, and would appreciate some advice regarding model.

I am having some difficulties choosing the right model for me... essentially I am looking for their best business phone, but features aimed at young people such as multimedia, music, video, are not relevant for me - apart for a reasonable camera. Also, facebook, twitter, youtube, instant messaging, are not important to me... just good 3G Internet connectivity. Oh, yes, and GPS.

Let's say price is not an issue (it will be purchased from the mobile phone provider's 'hardware fund'). Any recommendations please?

PS - must work with COMAND NTG2.5

but I am happy to check this separately later :thumb:

Sounds like the HTC explorer is the one you want, only 3 mega pixel camera.

I'm using a HTC desire still and it just works for me without any fuss. had it for two plus years now which means I pay £8.95 per month for a reasonable amount of minutes and texts but with unlimited internet access..

Hi,
I have got myself an HTC Sensation on Vodafone, and I can honestly it is the best phone I have owned, internet is super fast, nice big clear display too, camera is 5mp IIRC too.

I have an old:D HTC Desire HD, I think now replaced by the Sensation. 8mega pixel camera and HD video. I have had Blackberry, Nokia etc and this is by far the best phone I have owned. One very important thing is to make sure you get a phone package that includes downloading as these phones and their apps update regularly and you could get hit with a sizeable bill of several hundred pounds.

hi markjay, just read your post i used a iphone 3gs for 2 years after 2 years of no signal issues and dropped calls deciided to try a htc bought the htc explorer hey presto no more dropped calls and can get a signal in areas i phone would not 10/10

Thanks for all your replies.

I've been offered a choice of these:

(Sorted by most expensive down to cheapest)
HTC Sensation Beats XE
HTC Sensation Beats XL
HTC Rhyme
HTC Salsa (Icon)
HTC Desire S
HTC Wildfire S (Black)
HTC Explorer (Pico)

I am happy with the expensive ones (as I don't actually pay for it) because it usually means more features.

Any more comments?

I would check out the battery life as this can vary significantly from model to model.

I have had an iPhone 3Gs, an HTC desire and a Samsung Android and I'm back with BlackBerry - mostly for the incomparable Enterprise Outlook integration and the battery life.

I was unfortunate enough to have the HTC Wildfire at one point - I'd avoid it like the plague, it's awfully slow responding to presses and to do anything useful. It wasn't the S variant however, but I can't see it having improved by any useful amount. It's definitely classed as one of the budget models.

hi mark,
i have a desire s which fulfils my needs well, the GPS works well when the data is switched on (i brought it instead of getting a dedicated sat nav), and the battery is good if you dont constantly run apps in the background.
its my first smart phone so dont have much to compare it to though. i'm sure it can do alot more than i'm asking it to.
regards.

Thanks for your all your input.

I have now been swayed to opt for the Samsung Nexum instead - mainly due to the HD screen (nearly got the Note by mistake - it has an even better screen, but I didn't realise it was in fact a mini-tablet... the Nexum is quite big as well, but seems OK).

Question is, does anyone know if the Samsung Nexum will work with my NTG2.5 Bluetooth?

Many thanks.

I can confirm that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus works well with NTG2.5 ;)

...and the MBclub Android App is cool :)
