Hello every one, I brought a 1990 300ce a bit back and have looked in on your forum for advice on bits and bobs. It’s a great pleasure to look at every ones photos ect. There are some really great classic MB out there and it’s great to seeing photos from people who love their cars.
I am in need of some advice,

Today I moved it from being parked on the street, to the drive way so I could remove the back seat and look at the driver’s side seat belt presenter as it does not work. I looked and it seems like one of the little pressure switches sticks in and stops the operation. I decided it’s not worth fixing and put everything back together. (Amazing how easy it is to take the car apart!)
Get this. It won’t start now. I put the key in, turn it to the third position ariel goes up and the one working seat belt presenter buzzes out. Then turn to ignition. I hear a click coming from the starter motor area and from the area of the fuel relay/air con relay. That’s it. I have tried moving the selector into neutral in case it was that. What do you think would cause the starter motor to not even spin? It had all ways been a bit reluctant to start in the past.

Any way I’m not angry with it, its 21 years old and has done 207k miles so I expected problems. Which I hadn't really had 'till now.

Hi and welcome to the forum. If not the battery,I`d be looking at the starter motor

Hello there , is that photo taken on the way to the Monkey Sanctuary in Seaton ? looks a lot like it.

Welcome on board ! :bannana:

Battery even tho those electric bits all buzz about? I will try jumping it tomorrow, its raining at the moment.

Seaton is kinda close. Well same coast. I took that in torquay :)

Yes Ross, a battery can do all sorts of funky things with small loads but then 'give up the ghost' when it comes to cranking the engine as the starter draws very large amounts of current by comparison.

Welcome Ross. I'm sure you will have it running again in no time.
