C200 CDI EXECUTIVE SE
Hello

Please bear with me, at the ripe old age of 52 I bought myself a C200 W204 Executive SE, on a 13 plate.

My excuse is that I went to buy a Mondeo that had all the bells whistles, but was parked next to a C200, in metallic black, which was barely any more money.....

I test drove both cars and despite a lot of respect for the blue oval I couldn't convince myself the C200 was a worse buy :)

Full leather, but not heated, auto box, no navi as yet but I am watching a couple of units on the Bay and will grab one at the right price before too long, the socket is ready and waiting after all :) :)

I have only had the car on the drive since Sunday (Tuesday night as I type) and I am already finding excuses to go for a drive, taken the long way home both nights so far and loving it.

I expect I'll be asking a few dim questions before long, but so far I'm finding the answers via Google or the search engine on here.

Great car and welcome to the madhouse.

Christmas has come early. Happy New Car. Enjoy and post a pic or two when you get the chance.

Ant.

Welcome, Pleased for you and hope you enjoy.
Careful about eBay Becker units, there seem to be some hacked units, so if you subsequently attempt upgrading the firmware it locks the unit. Think that's cause of my current issue.
Cheers,Tony

I would steer clear of Chinese satnavs.

Howdo.

I had exactly the same experience, test drove a lot of decent, worthy, well equipped cars, insignias, passats, all sorts.

But the C just felt nicer.

Are there any checks to make for dodgy Becker units? I'm not keen on the prices on the manufacturer's website so was hoping to pick up one of the units on the Bay.

There are a couple from folk who have multiple items listed, I had naively assumed they were dealers who simply weren't complying with pricing policy...

There are also few units folk have taken out of the cars they have sold, do you think these might be a better bet if the vendor hasn't got a dozen of so other MB sat navs listed or in their sold history??

I could just stick with Garmin, but as the screen is there and I like integrated stuff I was looking forwards to plug and play side of the Becker.

One thing for sure, I'm not about to rip the dash out and fit a Command unit, looks like way too much work and cost.
