Thankyou:) I was told yesterday by my mechanic that my "ever immaculate" W203 needs the attentions of Rashman who I'm told is even more obsessive than I am! I recently briefly considered a w204 but when my is going SO well I'd be mad to sell it.

Come on Greg, you know you want to ;)

...that after having new shocks fitted and new v poly belt and idler and an aircon service, my car feels great!:) It is driving like a brand new car and with its recently tarted up wheels it's looking good to. I just thought I'd say I'm lovin it!:bannana:

I would be interested to know the reason for the new shock absorbers and at what mileage replacement was necessary. May have a similar issue.... TIA

I always change them at about 80,000 miles. MB say they dont need done til they leak or collapse, others say they need changed at 50,000. I think that from 50,000 miles onward the decline in ride quality is quite steep and when you fit the new ones you are always amazed at the improvement. BTW I always fit Sachs/Boge which are OEM and brill. HTH
PS. Whereabouts in the country are you?

Stay in North East outside Newcastle

I wish to eradicate a steering wheel wobble that has plagued my car. Last year new coil springs made a difference but wobble has returned. Each time a wheel is removed/changed/swopped the symptoms recur. I have replaced tyres alloys brakes discs and it made no difference. Wheels have been balanced numerous times also. Been into dealer, specialist and two tyre depots who can find no fault on the car. Full alignment undertaken also.

Has anyone fitted new shock absorbers and removed steering wheel vibration?
