"Mailer-Daemon" email`s - notifying me of returned emails i`ve never sent....

Is this some kind of virus/spyware thingy?
I do spyware/virus scane regularly.......

More likely someone who has you in their address book has a virus that has decided to pick your address to spoof from.

I get it every now and then. Not much you can do about it.

How does someone send an email using my address though - i must be the only registered XXXXXX@aoldotcom?

email addresses can be spoofed fairly easily unfortunately. :(

Its almost certainly a virus. I had the same thing a few weeks ago. Someone who has your e-mail address on their pc has received the virus and you are the next in the list. Just delete them or better still block it totally

Sounds the same as happened to a friend of mine recently. There's a thread on here about it. Her email addy had been spoofed which is very very easy to do. Even I can do it!

Not a lot you can do about it tho it seems :(

Some evil spammer scum has spoofed your email address for the REPLYTO field. So, all those nice companies that have out-of-office replies setup, or mail servers set to send a "this account doesn't exist" reply, get routed through to you.

Nothing you can do, except sit it out. Eventually, a month or so, they will stop ... until the next time.

[Guess who was recently spoofed  ]

Pammy's friend and I were plagued by this and we were both with Freeserve\Wanadoo and they couldn't care less.

I am now with Eclipse, no Viagra posts, no spam

There was an article in Sunday Times about this yesterday - suggesting that some ISPs were getting overzealous in filtering and so sending back mail. It listed 2 or 3. Might be just a coincidence, but apparentlt ISPs getting some stick about it.
