Hi guys Im new to this but here goes

i was driving really fast (racing) and saw 2 cars in front of me suddenly brake so therefore i had to brake really hard, which i could not stop in time so i had 2 take it on the curb which i did at around about 20-30 mph i cracked 2 alloys and 3 tyres popped (gutted) what has happened is the drive side wheel has been pushed back into the arch, on the passanger side its a 3 finger gap from arch to wheel on the driver side its almost 2 fingers, i was told wishbone has been bent but which part do i need to fix this ive been running around looking for wishbones but there so many, so could anyone please help me. also when i full lock right to do a uturn it kinda skids.

maybe if you hadn't been using the road as a racetrack you wouldn't need to be replacing damaged parts ? your on a wind up surely ???

Sounds as if your offside [ driver] front suspension has taken a big knock. To be honest this is a job for the pros with the correct chassis alignment equipment to sort out. I think if you have comprehensive insurance you should at least consider putting in a claim because the total bill might be quite expensive by the time you have finished. Often impacts like this can do considerable suspension damage without it being apparent.

Can you claim on your insurance for damage caused by driving in a criminally dangerous way on the public roads? Wouldn't be broadcasting it on the Internet in your position.

Sorry if I have got the wrong end of the stick but racetracks don't usually have kerbs.

Don't think that damaging your car while committing a driving offence means your insurance is invalidated or there would be a huge number of unresolved claims out there. :dk: If he only has third party cover then he is on his own repair cost wise.

Policies do normally exclude racing, as mentioned in the O/p first post.

If the O/p is lucky he has just bent the lower track control arm, if not the whole front of the car might have been pulled down.

I had assumed the OP meant he was "racing" with a.n. other on the public roads and not on a race track per se. If this was a track day or similar then of course his insurance would not cover that. [Now this doesn't mean I approve of racing on the public roads of course but its a loose terminology describing something most people have done in some shape or form in a moment of bad judgement at one point or other?]

the car needs to be taken to a Mercedes Indie for an initial assessment to be done.

That will determine the likely cost to fix good as new - then go from there.

Tell us your location and perhaps we can recommend a reliable Merc Indie.
