Ideas and suggestions for circa £2k or less shed or a car

Mazda 6. I had a Mazda Xedos years ago, did 100k miles. Nothing went wrong. Serviced at correct time. Leather interior (cream) looked brand new when I sold it. Mazda tends to fly under the radar. Worth a look.

If you bought a Zafira, you could save on heating bills - don't they have a tendency to set fire to themselves?

Your money, your choice, but do you really think the war in Ukraine will drag on to the Autumn, and if it did, that the governments of Europe would allow their economies to be crippled by a shortage of fuel? I don't; you're worrying too much.

The Russian economy would be crippled by sanctions, and Putin removed, long before that would happen anyway.

I like them and there’s shit loads of room in the back for all my bikes and stuff.
Amen re the SAAB estates. Had an Aero back in 2000 and it was a very impressive, but somewhat boring, car. Sold it for a more interesting W210 E55 which was nowhere near as good as a family car.

The challenge is finding a SAAB in good condition at that price, but they are out there.

And it's basically a Mondeo under the skin, and Fords are pretty reliable, though not as much as Japanese cars.

X type estate would be my choice, the wife has the saloon, 03, 15 years down the line and still going strong. Even an old shed can have style and class 😇
Since I saw a photo of the Queen in her X Type estate I keep looking at them on eBay.

A nice AWD in British Racing Green with cream leather. 👍

X-type seems a blooming good shout.

Look at this beauty. A bit over budget, but then it's a bit more than a scrag rust turd shed box!
One owner. Inside looks great condition.

Being over 70% Mondeo would be enough to put me off!....I don't do Dagenham Dustbins..well at least but the modern ones. Most were cool before 1980!...and one or two fast ones were cool after....

Looks great. Would just be doing a bit of research to see whether the recurring engine MIL light (3 MOT fails in 3 years) has an easy/permanent fix.

Just shows how much you actually know.

I looked at the X Type before i bought my Mondeo Mk4 and from memory there wasn't actually much of the Mk3 Mondeo in the X-type? Floor pan and a few bits but i think all the suspension and drivetrain etc was different? The X-type seemed quite small inside so i went Mondeo Mk4. Fantastic cars - i was never into Fords (Italian vehicles are my weakness) but as a tool it was faultless and was actually fun to hustle as well.

Ok I was being sarcastic and the 70 percent is a guess!....but they are heavily built into the old shape Mondeo sharing all the hard points and many of the engines and dimensions with the Ford. I've never considered them a proper Jag
