Does anybody happen to recognise this London street used for filming a short scene for London Boulevard. Looks to be near a gas works, south of the river, Vauxhall maybe??

Certainly looks like the area next to The Oval cricket ground. Gasometers are adjacent IIRC.

Montford Place

( Derek beat me to it )

Right - please remain still - this is thread hijacking, seeing as there might be some London street experts here

There used to be Croydon Street in Marylebone - what happened to it?
Gone in the Blitz?

Went through the list of renamed streets - not there (at least I didn't find it).

Impossible and illegal number plate... just saying

10 Rillington Place, a lot happened there.

Could it be the old catford gas works near Bell Green Lane Sydenham SE London?

Now covered by a Sainsbury's store, an industrial estate, B&Q and MB Bromley service facility.

Well, that being the case, I'll take that as a No then.

Good thread...brings back memories. My old mum was born in 14 Farrant St and lived there throughout the WW2 Blitz. She tells some great stories about going to work through the day then returning at night as an air-raid warden. One morning she was told to go up to her office and collect as many paper records as she could carry then get out. There was an unexploded German mine in the basement . I would have another auntie if my mums younger sister had survived being pushed off the kerb when she was at the primary school in E Street. I spent many a happy holiday down there with my nana Taylor till she died when I was a maybe ten and well remember playing with a toy gun that fired matchsticks by a spring thingy and hide and seek on the footbridge over the Junction Canal. Happy days.
We went back a few years ago for a reminiscence and found they'd demolished the whole street to build a park. :o

Farrant Street, W10

Yes Druk its a funny old world, seems we've swapped places I was born in 36 the Cowgate Edinburgh, near the Grass Market,, Now, I couldn't be any further South, on a clear day I can see France.

And its Botham coming in from the gasworks end. Happy days.

Sorry but the pedant and cricketing devotee cannot let this go. The gas holders are/were to one side of The Oval. The two ends are known as "Pavilion" and "Vauxhall".

:o

I was born in The Simpson in Edinburgh. It's my mum that's English. I blame her for my stupid side :D:D;).
