Car
An SLK R171 with lots of toys and a Golf Plus for fishing.
Years ago I had a string of VW Scirocco's, about six in total I seem to remember and they were a mixture of Mk1's, Mk2's and, a couple of Storm special editions.

This though has got my appetite going again.

Not a replacement for my SLK though, she has got her other quite distinctive charms ;) . I'm thinking that my A Class doesnt get the proper MPV use that it should and I'm fancying a new daily driver.

What do you reckon?, I love the Viper Green, its right up my 1970's street

There really is "something" about that! Not sure about the colour though....

I suppose one man's drool can be another man's stool  :)

Not my cup of tea, but I don't like tea either. :)

Don't eat it all at once

Doesnt tick my boxes. Sorry.
Far too Essex for my taste.
I would rather a Golf GTI in either black or silver.
The last car that looked GOOD in that colour was a Muira.

Noy my cuppa either I'm afraid, the thought of jarring bones from the stiff suspension usually found in small cars:( I guess I'm too old:o

Yep, I know, not everyones taste.

I did shed a tear though when the original Scirocco was dropped in the early nineties plus, at that time, I couldnt afford its natural successor which was the Corrado so my small coupe days came to an abrupt end as there was nothing else that suited me.

Ooops, I nearly forgot, I had a couple of Mk1 Tigra's in the mid nineties but thats another story........

I'm not a VW Golf GTI fan and never have been. They are very good cars I know and I have nothing against them but, its small coupes for me. I've had a C Class one a couple of years ago and the CLC would be a return to something far too similar.

I do like a bit of the wacky side of things though so I think I'm going to have a run out to my local VW establishment this afternoon and get on their mailing list, we're looking at late summer/early autumn anyway but still be keeping my SLK though ;) .

I like it but think it would look better on stilts in a 4wd flavour.

Looks like a Smart for 4 IMO :(

I think its the steering wheel that most replicates the original Scirocco

I had a Corrado in the early nineties.
Terrific car - massively better than the Scirocco (but not as pretty as the Guigario (sp?) styled mark one.
I drove it (apart from three ferries) to Saxa Vord (find THAT on your maps!).

It was the best car I have ever owned.

But the so was my Stag.
And my G-Wagen
And the Disco
and the E Class.

nothing like the old scirocco more like the honda crx (i think its that car)..me to loved the scirrocos regards jon

Without any blurb saying what it is to me it looks like the little volvo / civic combintion.

What you want it a proper 90's corrado with the VR6 2.9L engine :) :) (storm edition)

or this.... (look at his other toys in the big toy box!!)

Just seen this now. Some big changes to the front but I'm still liking it.

I've been on the German VW website for some more gen fully expecting to see something for their neighbouring countries but, it would appear, you can get information for Ireland but not the UK .

I quite like it, but then I am a bit of a sucker for a coupe and a VW. I have had 6 VW's in the past mostly Golf's, before I saw the light, but will be looking with interest at this.

Some of that I really like - the profile view is great - very slick. Not so keen on the overuse of silver plastic which does give it the Smart For Four look. Other than that I do like it

Some further info here.http://www.worldcarfans.com/9080214.022/vw-scirocco-new-info-out

Has a bit of Porsche, a bit of Ford Focus, a bit of Volvo C30 in its styling. Difficult to judge till you see it in "the metal" I guess? I always thought the MERCEDES C class coupe or CLC was a bit more Scirocco like?

I also think from certain angles there's a touch of the Astra Coupe. That might mean the Scirocco also ends up with lousy sightlines for reversing. Nice looking car though.
