There may not be an " alarm " that makes a loud noise but there could be an immobiliser. First thing is to check the alarm with a camera--if its not working change the internal batteries--- then resynchronise [ match up] the key with the car-- should be instructions in your owner's manual. [ info on the forum here if you do a search] If after changing the batteries the key still doesn't work a small internal switch may have failed- you need to split the key in 2 and repair by soldering [ if you can't do this get a local radio repair man to do it] instructions here

ps you might well have to register on that forum to see the details but its free to join.

Will the key make a FULL QUARTER TURN in the lock?
When the key turns, it hits a switch which disables the immobiliser and unlocks the doors.
Does the vacuum pump make any sound when you unlock the car?

Remove the lock and inspect the lock shaft / rod you see in picture.

Putting a flat screwdriver into the vacant lock hole… where the shaft / rod was should do the same job as the key in that it should unlock the car and disable the immobiliser, that is, if the lock is faulty.

What electrical consumers are NOT working?
Wipers? Indecators? Horn? Heater blower?etc
Havr you checked fuses?

Does the engine turn over and try to start at position 3 start in picture below?
What lights come on when you turn the key in ignition?
Is the car battery good?
Are ALL the electrical wires connected to the battery tight?
Are there Red and/or Green lights flashing on the car anywhere?

Your picture is of the boot (trunk) lock, below is the ignition lock, different key from yours?

the battery is very good & ALL the electrical wires is connected to the battery tight

Sounds as if you have a EIS Electronic Ignition Switch problem. Fortunately in a 94 car its unlikely to be electronically security matched to the immobiliser or engine ECU. If all the normal dashboard lights don't light up with ignition switch-on= the key position before the starting one--- that's the most likely place to look.

I think your problem might be that the ignition lock is damaged or perhaps worn inside.

If the ignition lock is worn inside then there is a cure for this problem, I had this problem too. Have a look at this Guide over here… W202 Ignition key won’t turn past 1 or 2 - Mercedes-Benz Owners' Forums

If you are not good at working with cars then get someone who is.

Don’t turn the steering wheel while the ignition lock is removed from the car, however you can try to start the car with a screwdriver but DO NOT move the steering wheel or try to drive the car.

It may still be possible to get the key to turn one time, so as to start the car, by shaking it, as you try to turn it, treat it very GENTLEY and without force and you might get lucky.

Let us know how you get on. It may not be the immobiliser but a bad ignition lock.
