I moved from Wednesbury(Birmingham) myself and I'm trying to find one here now.

Well, I wanted a new thermostat fitting. I contacted two 'recommended' MB specialists who were at leat 50 miles away and both quoted in the region of £175. I then asked the local 'blacksmith' who quoted £160 and me to supply the part. Finally, I phoned the (almost) local Mercedes dealer (Listers of Boston) who quoted £150 fitted. So............

Not the first time indies have quoted more than main dealers.

I have booked an appointment just now with Alan Rhodes (North Hykeham, Lincoln) for a battery replacement and diagnostic. He is not strictly Merc specialist, but deals with Audi, BMW, and MB.

There is an airmatic malfunction since two days ago and hopefully it is caused by weak battery. I am having other silly errors on the dash - regarding Keyless Go - and my parking sensors went off once as well. So I keep my fingers crossed that all these problems are caused just by the (nearly dead) battery..
