I have a light permanantly on, on the dashboard that denotes disbling interior sensor and allows towing. Any ideas my local garage does not have a clue. Thanks in advance for any advise.

Could indicate a fault with the alarm system ... what year is your car?
Anything in the manual about it?

The car is a W 2000
nothing in manual -alarm ok

This is the switch that:

1. Disables the interior alarm sensors so you can lock the car with people/pets inside.
2. Disables the alarm motion sensors so you can tow the car.

It is supposed to light up when either of the above functions is activated. If the light doesn't go out when you turn it off, clearly there is a fault with the switch and/or alarm, and needs diagnosing.
