London Underground has condemned the action of a stuntman who skied down a Tube escalator.

Norwegian Peter Olenick hurtled down a 300ft escalator at Angel station in north London in a filmed display which was shown on the internet.

LU said: "This is a dangerous, stupid and irresponsible act that could have resulted in serious injury or death to not only the individual concerned but also other passengers".
"LU will press for the police to take the strongest possible action against anyone attempting a similar act on the Tube network."

The film of the stunt was shot from a camera in the man's helmet.

The producer of the film said other people were not in danger as friends of the stuntman had warned passengers away.

British Transport Police is understood to be looking into the incident.

:) Please children don't try this on your stairs:)

I hate to say this but...... Brilliant, I would love to have thought of it. There was no one on the escalators, no one near them when he must have rocketed off!

He who dares....
Has fun.

Okay, now I'll duck for cover.

Does going DOWN the UP escalator take longer than going DOWN the DOWN escalator ?

That looks fantastic - stupid - but fantastic all the same. There's so many opportunities to do stoopid things on the tube   :D

Can't believe it made headline news! At least it was somethng funny, brilliant!

There was a show on MTV where people were doing things like that.
Great free publicity for London Underground but they wouldn't see that would they.
Thank goodness for the carzies.

I know the escalator well. He has big balls to do that.

Really? I wouldn't think so. I mean, it's not as if he can deviate from his chosen downhill path (there's a three foot metal sidewall on both sides) and he's not going to crash into anything (his friends cleared out the public). If he can stand up straight, he's likely to not come to harm. Yes it *looks* tough, but I'd take this over many other crazy things to do :-)

Looks funny though!
