W208 CLK 320
Hi - after getting a new W208 CLK 320, the only thing I am not happy with, is the factory Audio 10 stereo and speakers. I have decided to put in one of these headunits with appropriate ISO adapter. On further reading though, it appears I need to get a CANBUS adapter thing to use the steering controls. I have trawled ebay and see these go for 130 - 150 quid each!!!!!!!
My question is, would it work without one (just not having the steering wheel stereo controls, i.e volume etc) or would it not work and also affect all other steering wheel controls?
150 quid just seems a ridiculous amount for it.....
Any help is appreciated.

It will work without the steering control adapter but you can get the adapter alot cheaper.

Edit: Just saw you have a W208 not W209. Yes the adapter for W208 is expensive. I think Incar Tec are the only ones who make one for W208.

Sorry, being a dipstick, read it as 2008 CLK rather than W208.

The adapters are mainly from the 2004 on.

You may well find it expensive to get one for your car.

Thanks for the link and advice - 75 is a lot better than 150.

So if I did put it on without, I wouldn't have any of the wheels functions or just the stereos functions?

You will not be able to control the stereo via the buttons on the steering wheel. Other functions will still work.

Aah ok - I can live without the volume adjustment for the sake of 75 quid for now :)

Hi, are you looking to sell the yhe factory fitted radio? Thanks
