Intermittent parking brake light

Evening all, as per title, car in question is a 2003 E55 sedan. Sometimes the light comes on, sometimes it doesn’t, it never stays on. Is it a case of removing panel and removing switch, maybe a little electrical spray? I’ve got mot coming up, and I’m assuming it’s a fail if the light doesn’t come on when activating? Light always comes on when ignition on, and goes out when engine on. Thanks in advance for any advice.
