End of address bar.

Just gone back to IE6 .....

I was getting far too many 'page cannot be displayed' errors .... checked my connection and everything ......

Soon as i was back on 6 all is ok again ..

Pity, i liked the look of the new one .... :(

I personally found IE7 to be dreadful.

Far too many pages no longer come up plus the worst of all....the MBCLUB toolbar no longer worked.

Had mozilla (firefox) installed also and its better than IE7 in my opinion. Tried to go back to IE6 but that went hoirribly wrong and i ended up with no pages at all working. All I got was 'Application error' whenever I tried ANY of my bookmarks. So I had to back to IE7 and firefox. I now have to use both whereas previously IE6 did the lot! I too have the dreaded msn setup page always popping up first in IE7 despite removing every reference to go.microsoft and msn from the registry! IE7 is awful and typical of the microsoft policy of releasing S/w which isnt fully tested.

Unimpressed to say the least.

There's a setting "Always use ClearType for HTML" (or something similar) in Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced. Turn it off to go back to the old days of razor-sharp text.

Does anybody seriously think text looks better on a CRT monitor with this turned on? (Jury's still out on LCDs, which is what ClearType is optimised for.)
Tried that and my text still seems a little out of focus? Any further thoughts?

Are your pictures a bit fuzzy too?

It might mean your screen dpi setting needs changing (common problem on newer Dell Lappys)

- or a perhaps a visit to Specsavers?? :D

Right click on any empty part of your desktop, choose Properties - Settings - Advanced - General and set the dpi setting to 96.

This will probably make the images and text a little smaller but should improve on clarity.

My dpi setting is already set to 96 dpi. The images seem fine, just the text is blurry. It's only happened since installing IE7.

I installed IE7 .... then Uninstalled it... it is so slow and rubbish.

I am currently IE6 with all patch upgrades.... for normal browsing and FIREFOX 2 for private browsing where I can clear all the caches and history as necessary after each session... plus gives TABs functionaility

And by private browsing - a lot of software/car sites have banners with women flashing around - and as kids share my pc - it is all cleaned up as necessary.

Tried it and don't like it.
I think I like it less because they (Microsoft) seem to be taking a lot of ideas off Firefox, which I prefer.

Thanks to you guys and linked threads, fuzzy font and runonce issue now resolved quickly and without headscratching. Thanks folks...
