My computer keeps 'offering' me Internet Explorer 8, is it any good ? should i accept it ?

Works for me. I forget how IE 7 was now. I find having tabs in IE8 very useful. It's where you can have multiple pages open within a single window. Personally I also find it useful to install Google Toolbar in which ever Ie version you're running.

I imagine too, but not sure, that IE8 is more secure than IE7.

Works for me too. Same as 7 but with added extras. Recently tried Firefox after reading enthusiastic postings on another forum. Went back to 8. Ff too invasive for me. Horses for courses; it's what you're used to.

I use IE8 , love it ...

My wife uses Firefox , and loves it , i can't get on with it ...

Hyper-links stopped working for me on two different pc's when browsing via IE8 and it seems I wasn't alone with this annoyance. Hadn't used any other browser up until that point but it got so bad I've now shifted over to Google Chrome 4 and all is well in the World.

Google Chrome - Get a fast new browser. For PC, Mac and Linux

Don't think there is a good one between the lot of them, I chop and change between IE8, Chrome and Firefox depending on what I'm doing on the net as some are better than others at certain things but never had a problem with IE8

I prefer Safari on both my iMac and w7 laptop.

Tried Opera but find it not to my liking.

All about google chrome. THE best browser out there. ultra fast, simple to use, built in spell checker, youtube search bar... the list goes on!

You forgot to mention the Kate Spade theme.

I had problems with IE8 in that the toolbars were blacked out, Just solid black bars so you couldn't see the buttons. Couldn't find what the conflict was. Switched to Firefox and stuck with it. Never tried anything else.

Beware if you have 'ask.com' toolbars installed in Internet Explorer.

I ended up sorting a friend's XP system last week that was failing to boot. Turned out IE8 upgrade had been accepted and thereafter the system wiped its boot.ini file every time it shutdown - net result it failed to boot.

The ask.com toolbars can be uninstalled from the control panel.

I tried Chrome and whilst I liked the simple functionality I found that too many webpages were not being displayed properly, plus on opening a new tab it would sometimes crash that tab. I kept updateding to the latest version. I guess I should try it again now it's been out a while longer.

Hate IE, used to use Firefox but now use Chrome as it's noticeably faster!
