Introducing the Unimog

I am sure you are right.... hence the question mark in my original post.
I wasn't sure if you'd spotted something I'd missed - entirely possible :)

But , given the number of /8 cars in the film it must have been filmed at least after 1968 , so I'd expect not so very many Pontons running around since then ?

My father bought a brand new W115 in 1969, and from memory this was the first year they had this new model that replaced the fintail W110.

So if the clip dates back to 1968, then you are most probably right!

Although.. having Googled it, the Audi 100 Coupé S was introduced in 1969, so the clip was most probably filmed in 1969 (or possibly late 1968).

I think the /8 was introduced in 1968 , but given that RHD versions usually arrived in this country somewhat later , you could very well be correct . My dad's W115 220/8 , NSX 126J , was purchased new by him from Callanders in Glasgow in sumer 1970 , after his 190 Fintail , BSX 71B , was written off in a crash with an Austin A35 during that summer , when I was on a school exchange trip to Holland ; I was taken to Glasgow airport in the familiar 190 , and picked up on my return in a brand new 220 ! My first time in the air , I remember the huge push in the back taking off - but then it was a VC-10 !
