I have an iPhone paired to my car and have also imported my phonebook using the iPhone cradle in the centre armrest. I also regularly access the phone book using voice control (the MB Linguatronic is excellent...much better than Voice Control in BMW's!).

However, when I have a contact with more than one number attached to it, say a landline and a mobile number, I cannot seem to access this via Linguatronic.

For instance....

  • I'll ask it to dial a name and then confirm the name is correct.
  • It must then recognise that more than one number is saved against that name and asks if I want to call the home, landline, mobile, car or work number.
  • The number I want is saved a 'mobile' number (in the phone book on command it shows a little mobile phone icon to confirm this).
  • When I say 'mobile' it tells me that no number is saved

I have tried getting to the number using all the other combinations (such as car, home, work etc) yet it tells me nothing is saved....despite the fact that the number is in the directory!

Has anyone come across this and knows why this is happening; am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

IIRC you have to store the voice command in the actual COMAND unit and tell it the name and number you want.

You can access the phonebook on your phone via the steering wheel but only so many via voice.
