I use an iPhone with unlimited Internet access.is there a way I can connect the iPhone to a laptop and use the net, advantage of using a large screen but not using a dongle but using unlimited iPhone access.

Just thinking, but on my N95 I have software that makes the phone pretend to be a wireless access point and I connect via that.

Getting to the point, it might be worth looking for a similar app for iphone.

I believe its called tethering and I think they charge you for it unless you've jailbroken your phone.

You're right, it is and they do:rolleyes: at least 02 do anyway.

All my old mobiles supported beng used as a 3G or GPRS modem over bluetooth but the iPhone is well and truly locked down so they can extract every last penny from you.

The internet access package that comes with iPhone contracts is a lot more liberal with O2 than the one that comes with the 'inlimited web' on other phones.

Upside is you can in principle do more with your iPhone in terms of things like streaming.

Downside is that they have the tethering restriction to tie the use of that service to the iPhone itself and not a connected computer.

I have a jailbroken iPhone on software version 3.0.1, how do I go about enabling tethering?

Thanks

Tan

If its Jailbroken you have to download from Cydia this app: iPhoneModem 3. Works a treat for me
