Is anyone looking for a brand new unregistered C63 AMG?

Unfortunatley a project at work that would have generated substantial income has faltered. It may still go ahead but I need to protect my own personal situation and the first thing that needs to happen is for me to cancel my C63 order.
Before I do this is there anyone on here that is in the process of ordering that may be interested in stepping in?

The spec is as follows:

Irridium Silver
Performance Pack Plus
Limited Slip Differential
Harmon Karden
heated washers
Twin cup holder
Rear side window blinds
19 inch AMG alloy wheels
Command
Intelligent headlights

List including the price increase, delivery and first registration is £64,285 but I negotiated a discount of £7,000 using Mercedes finance plan bringing the price down to £57,285. I have paid £1,000 deposit which hopefully I could get back if I introduce a new customer.

I have not told the dealer yet as I was hoping the situation righted itself which it may still do but its just not fair to let it go on any longer so I have set myself a time limit of the end of this month to inform them.

The car is due to be delivered at the end of November so if anyone is genuinely interested please let me know and I will pass on the dealers details and inform them.

I feel incredibly gutted but just cannot risk putting additional financial strain on ourselves just for the sake of pride.

If you need any further information please PM with a contact number and I will be happy to discuss.

Many thanks. :o

That's an amazing discount.

Sorry to hear about the cancellation but you are doing the right thing IMO.

Sorry to hear your news ... you may be want to check your position if you cancel the contract at the end of the month and the dealer is left with a car on order he can't sell. Not sure if this means you just lose your deposit or if you are liable for any further costs etc.
I am sure the car can be sold on with no problem - but just wanted you to be aware in advance ... good luck with your project and hopefully all will be resolved asap.

Thanks for replies. I am sure all will be okay but I just cannot take the chance.
Fingers crossed!

Good luck.

Do check your paperwork - IIRC from my 212 order you can cancel anytime upto signing the finance paperwork really but will lose your deposit. Of course this is a small worry in the whole scheme of things.

I really want to do right by the dealer as they have been very accomodating letting me have their demo car on two separate occasions for most of the day and on their insurance. The deal was very good and they have done everything that I asked.

sorry to hear your news - good luck for the future

Shame about your circumstances, all the best for the future. You can now wait for the facelift model as you metioned the other day.

Yes it had crossed my mind and I had thought about asking if the deposit could be held over for that but until I know for certain it would be foolish and unfair. The sad thing about it is that I will probably know around the delivery date if things will be okay.

Whilst it's very honorable to want to do the right thing by the dealer, you can bet that he just wants his money. You have to look after number 1, which is exactly what they will be doing.

A good dealer is great, and if they have been really helpful even better, but at the end of the day they probably wouldn't have been if they hadn't thought they'd get your business.

Another thought - if the dealer is stuck with the car regardless of what you do, you couold try explaining your situation and asking if they will hang on until you know. At least that way they might get the sale after all rather than the hassle of having to find another buyer for it and having it sat in stock costing them money.

If a car is spc'd up, then the deposit paid is forfeited if the cancellation date has passed. If not, then they can refund u back..

Will they refund you though? Just because they can cancel the build doesn't mean they can't keep your deposit.

Sorry to hear this fella....But you are doing the right thing.

I am sure someone will take you up on your offer very quickly considering the build time for a new one is around 16 - 20 weeks. As well as the great deal you have been offered on it. You will get one when the time is right I am sure and just a matter of playing the waiting game.

Isn't there a clause allowing you to cancel on delivery as long as you haven't driven it more than X miles?

Just checked - under the distance selling regulations, you should be able to cancel the contract and receive a full refund as long as you haven't travelled more than 10 miles, the car is in good condition, and as long as you pay £100+VAT.

This should be on the last page of your vehicle order form. If this holds true (and you are able to retain your deposit), can't you let the dealer know the situation so that they can market it ahead of your collection or move the order to a later date (facelift)?

Sorry, but the above is rubbish. It could only apply if the buyer had never visited the dealership (that's the "distance" bit - the sale was done at a distance).

It also doesn't apply in the case of items that are customised, so add an option to the car and it can't be used.

Thank you. Educate me though: Why is this still on the paperwork sent out if it is in fact rubbish?
