Is this a money pit or what?

theres not enough difference in power to justify the V12... hence why most AMG's use the V8's... the characteristics are much better suited to coupes... V12's are for big lazy limos...

I was after a lazier style of car to an AMG, more of a silent wafter rather than a racious V8 bruiser. I had a V8 engined car before and whilst it was quick and economical given the size of it, I always missed the refined engine note of the straight 6 that preceeded it. Are the Turbo'd 600's better now reliabilty/ease of working on etc.

I thought they were solid engines and cost wise there wasn't too much in it, apart from spark plugs etc.

There is 2x everything on a V12....2 throttle bodies, 2 injection modules, 2 EZLs etc etc....

But practically they are not that difficult to work with - parts cost a bomb but otherwise i don't see any real obstacle to them versus a V8.

A CL500 is probably the way to go then. I like a bit of a waft o matic too.

This has the best of both worlds.

This one looks terribly good value for money:-
