Is this CLS500 a good deal?

Europa Prestige Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class 5.0 CLS 500 £16,000

Parkers suggest £16835. Any known issues with these cars? Would it be better to try and source a diesel - much difference in mpg? I have a 56 plate E280cdi elegance to exchange - a certain tingling in my fingertips tells me a testdrive may be imminent....

All info and suggestions gratefully received.

I love CLS's however if it's a 5 litre, then it may be a 306bhp version which was replaced by the 5.5 litre 388bhp.

A guy on the other side was a bit disappointed when he found this out.

A Grand Edition 3.0 CDI produces 265bhp and also enjoys the extra torque/economy.

Others will confirm though.

It's a 2007 model so a safe bet it is the higher output engine. 5462cc if it helps.

I thought that but the dealer ad says it's a 5 litre :dk:.

Perhaps little dealer knowledge?

I don't know enough about them to tell if it's a facelift from the photos.

It could be an old stock car before it was registered - usually dealers would get things like capacity right - Europa are not exactly unfamiliar with MB....

Doom blue is not the most popular colour...

only was to be sure which V8 it has is to get a pic of the engine

Hi,on a 57 plate that will be a 5.5 ltr v8 with 388bhp & a 7gtronic autobox(mines a later 57 plate),mpg will average low 20's unless you sit in a lot of traffic or are heavy on the right foot,it's a smashing car & if you test drive it you'll want one!;):D
