Is this normal?

When I start my B200 cdi in the morning the heater output is very hot for the first ten minutes or so. I have to turn the temp setting to the coldest setting and then back up again later once the hot air has stopped. then it takes ages to come back up to temp again.

Any Ideas?

Does it have a pre-heater?

don't think so wasn't listed as on the spec sheet. I would I find out

Looking at your car it may be different. Has it always done it?

since I bought it in Feb yes. As the weather is warmer I haven't noticed it as much lately though
