Hi guys, i havnt had my car for v long, but iv bn drivn it around pottering in & out of town. The day i brought it i did 100 miles on the motorway it maxd at 28mpg. It only moved two or maybe 3 bars of fuel. When i drive local doin arnd 25-30 miles it also moves arnd 3bars. Is this normal, not complianing about my 5.4 supercharged monster, just wondering is this normal? Local driving style is like a granny.

Jus want to know if it normal, cuz cud hav a problem with o2 sensors or coilpacks etc.

Ahh I think I misunderstood your post! You think that because they are similar you perhaps ought to get better on a motorway run?

I would have thought 28mpg is quite good for a supercharged 5.5 V8 but there are members here with the same car who will confirm I'm sure. :)

thats very good, stop worrying and drive the beast properly, if your driving like a granny you should have bought a suitable car ;) lol

seriously just enjoy it, 22 is normal, 28 would be super good!

28! I drove one as a weekend car for 2 months and never got it over 25 (an estate mind). Exhaust note is too addictive.

Sub 20's for me unless driving down hill with a tail wind!

Same as Savman. Very rare in the 20’s. Never got close to 28! Reckon even it were at idle on the back of a flatbed, on the mway, it would struggle :o

(Not complaining though, worth every penny :D)

I've mentioned it before but 18mpg > 20mpg for mine usually.

Motorway & dual carriageway im fine with its v gud. Jus arnd town its quite shocking, like i sed im not complaining. Jus wondering.

Best I got on the motorway going to Vmax was 25mpg I think - and that was following SavMan and Alx - and we were trying to save petrol as it was the lead up to the fuel strikes.

Alx wasn't very good at conserving fuel let's say and me and Paul were constantly playing catchup...

:D

28mpg on a 5.4 litre seems amazing.
