Mercedes C class 220d 2018
Hi,

I’m buying a Mercedes c class 220d and want to install a ISO fix car seat.

Does it come with all the ISO fix fittings and brackets or do they need to be installed separately?

Thanks

Have you asked the seller / dealer?. The fixings are obvious if you look between the seat back and squab.

What year/version of C220d? The W205 is ISO-fix ready.

Edit- doh! It's in the title... :(

My understanding is that they have the ISO upper tether support but I’m wondering if I need to do anything special to install ISO fix like this video.

I just want to buy a standard ISO fix baby seat and plug it in without hassle :-)

As per the brochure, they have ISO-fix plus the top tether. We have used the lower bars for fitting ISO-fix bases in ours when needed for grandchildren and have also used the top-tether for the larger ISO-fix child-seats as per Britax Romer.

As I understand it, ISO fix requires three attachment points. On baby seats, that's the bars/hooks at the back and an adjustable leg that braces against the floor.

Larger child seats attach using the hooks/bars and a strap over the top of the adult seat to an anchor point in the rear.

I should imagine it would have them as syandard. The MB ones are far easily accessible than other makes I've put our seat in, namely Ford, Range Rover and Vauxhall

My 2006 C class estate has them as standard, I would be surprised if they were not already installed in a 2018 model C class.

Whatever you do , do not follow that idiot in the video. The fitting of all seat belts and restraints are what the industry call an 'A' grade process, which basically means 'Life or Death' process and are carried out by workers trained in that process using calibrated fitting equipment.

The least you need to do is find the EXACT torque setting for the bolts supplied with the MB kit , and stick to it.

They are already fitted/present in the W205 as standard equipment across the range.
