Hi, I recently went thru a drive thru car wash and have experienced a couple of weird faults. I don't know if they are connected.

Firstly approx 1 hour after the wash, the car had been stood for 10 mins, when I tried to start the car it gave an abs error message, then moved onto a srs error message - read manual. After many attempts to start the car nothing changed, I could not even turn the key. then I tried the spare key, and it worked, and the regular key was also accepted. I think this was just a co-incidence and something got damp and then dried out. Any suggestions what to look for I could do with avoiding this in the future...

Secondly tonight my drivers electric window has failed. There is a crunching noise when pressing the button to move the window, but the window doesn't move. I'm hoping it's just come off the runner ?

thanks in advance for any suggestions or input to these little niggles.

Cheers

It may be that water had got into one of the front sams causing this problem.

The window regulators are prone to the cables snapping will probably require a new regulator.

There's an excellent write up on how to get into, and how to repair the regulator:
http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/part...indow-regulator-snapped-cable-repair-diy.html

I subsequently added some additional tips including where to buy all the parts to effect a repair for less than a tenner.

Alternatively, if you're so minded then you could spend £200 on a new regulator.
