<Prologue>

Engine management light came on.

Ian W gratefully attended a Scottish GTG and 'Star'd' the car determining that the Camshaft Sensor was faulty. Reset it and all well. Light came back on short time later as it was suggested that it might.

Had car into local Indy, same fault indicated via Star and the suggestion was that no reason to change the sensor until it started 'playing up' via poor starting / misfire.

Lo and behold, I had a couple of fine months then a couple of weeks where it wouldn't start first time.

Engine management light on all the time.

Decided to bite the bullet and go the the local MB dealer and order the part. £114 lighter on the Tuesday for Thursday collection.

Thursday morning comes and I go to work. Car starts on first call, light on and off I go.

Lunchtime and I head up to the dealer. Hang on. Car starts first call, dashboard light off. :confused:

Collect part, car starts perfectly - light still off :confused::confused:

Light is still off, part is in the box in the glovebox and the light is still off.

Anyone got the part number for the dash bulb for a W220 cluster ? The one that is behind the Engine Management light ????? :D

I'm going to change the sensor anyway unless anybody can convince me otherwise .....................

Could be faulty wiring to the sensor maybe.
