My car is being delivered by Exeter Mercedes-Benz on Tuesday 19th February so I am now super excited:bannana::bannana:

Think I might struggle to get to sleep for the next 5 nights hahaha.

I could have waited until the 1st March for the new reg, but since it's getting a private plate it doesn't bother me.

Also had a huge surprise when organising the 7 day cover insurance via Mercedes (who use Aviva)... they were unbelievably cheap! I'd been quoted £750 with no tracker (best I could find), but Mercedes have let me use my wife's 5 years+ no claims which I am also a named driver over my own 2 years no claims and reduced further still byadding her to my new policy. So it's a mighty competitive £550 with an upgraded courtesy car and legal cover.

The only negative is the £650 excess which is due to the cost of repair to the car. As we've also just ordered a new A220 AMG Sport for my wife they've said if we add that too they'll further reduce by 10%!

So all good so far and fingers crossed all goes to plan on Tuesday and pictures and initial thoughts will soon follow!

I've voluntary terminated my C350 CDI (due to Mercedes cocking up my PCP on the car with an unrealistic balloon) so I will let you have my thoughts and experience of doing that process too for all interested.

Moff had you reached the halfway point with your finance thus opening up the "handback" clause ?

Yes, 36 months into a 42 month PCP so everything good there.

Got pretty annoyed with my local dealer (not that salesman's fault) that when they structured the original deal they were meant to create a balloon that meant we could exit after 30 months with zero equity, 36 months with some and 42 with more. But after 36 months we were in negative equity which was very disappointing. They actually advised to VT too due to this.

MBFS have accepted the VT, just awaiting to organise for the car to get collected.

Congrats! I bet you can't wait. Just make sure you enjoy your day collecting it - I certainly did :bannana:
Being delivered from Exeter to Nottingham so won't be the same dealer collection experience :(

We are about to VT too with negative equity.
You have to go collect the new car and not let some potentially clumsy delivery driver enjoy its first proper journey !
Good to see another S2000 fan on here.

Enjoy your new car immensely and love every mile.

Yes I would certainly like you to post you experience of VT which is what I am doing next week . Just been making sure car is A1 and had a few things done by local body shop as I don't want them claiming this and that. One person I spoke to at MB finance said it would go on my credit file but not affect my rating but the other one a few days later said it might! Don 't see why as it's in their agreement after all. I am in negative equity too and would be till October when agreement would have ended.

VT is a consumer right. It shouldn't adversely affect a credit file as most lenders look for delinquency when assessing someones suitability for credit. A VT would have less effect than a missed payment on a credit agreement. HTH

Exactly my view but the dealer even warned me that if I terminate before I signed the new agreement they might rquire a higher deposit!
Anway *** i am going for a new E class estate,Avantgarde with 17 " wheels (very important!) and contrary to your advice in earlier posts sticking with the 250 cdi engine. The 7g plus improves it no end and I am looking forward to serenely cruising along with excellent fuel consumption!
Stop start is now a feature of course as well. If I get fed up there is always DMS who get incredible results fom their remap of the twin turbo engine but as it is not the Sport (deliberately) and is not meant for chucking around i will probably leave it as is.
So there we are . The C class has been very very good and I have enjoyed it more the longer i have had it. I actually prefer the looks of the C class as well . I have averaged 37.4 in the last 20000 miles.
But having had the S211 320 cdi 55 reg from 2005 to 2009 I am hoping for something similar in the new one - not as much power of course but greater economy. I know you say the 350cdi is better for the E class and you may be right but I rather like the idea of spending less running it and lets's face it the 250 cdi is an amazing engine and goes into the whle Merc range .. Continue to enjoy your C estate - as I have said they are excellent.

Yep, it will not impact your credit rating / score at all, but the fact that it is on your credit file may mean that a manual underwriter will consider the impact.

But will that stop the sale - I doubt it as they will be keen to secure new business in these tough times!
