Ive just had:- "Black Death"

Hello all, i wonder if anyone can cast some light on an ongoing problem i have on my C220 CDi. A couple of weeks ago i started smelling oil/diesel/exhaust fumes in the passenger cabin, on inspection my "benz man diagnosed "black death" - (where the small washer fails on the injectors and oil passes up onto the top of the engine and slowly cooks,) this was repaired and new washers etc etc fitted. - job done!!!
No No im still smelling oil/diesel/exhaust fumes - not as strong but they are still there, unfortunatelly heads have been scratched and still no nearer a solution. Any ideas gents ???? PLEASE

its not oil that comes up its diesel... fairly common issue.

If you can smell the fumes you have a leak somewhere for sure.

i have found that the high pressure pumps and or the pipes around it often leak.
There is also a self bleed valve there that often fails and leaks.

If its the high pressure pump, more often than not it will only leak when the car is stone cold.

don't forget it will take a while for the residue to completely disappear
