I've noticed recently when the engine is cold the gearbox is somewhat jerky which I know can be normal due to temperature, but when stationary with foot on brake there seems to be a gear change - feels like i've been bumped from behind.
My ATF was changed at 80k by MB.

I've not noticed this before, but it seems to be occuring often whenever the car is cold.
Anything I should look out for?

Thanks

That’s odd behaviour but somewhere buried amongst the forum and YouTube are procedures for resetting the auto box, it may be worth a go to see if it works.

I'll have a look for the reset -
The car is at a complete stop with firm pressure on the brake....

I and a friend with the same gearbox have both had this. It's come and gone, and seems to happen more often if you catch the gearbox off guard, like accelerating from standstill, then suddenly stopping again (like going for a gap at a roundabout, then aborting), and yes the first few times I thought the person behind had bumped me slightly, as it does feel like a knock. You come to a standstill, then a brief knock from behind.

I didn't do anything about it, and it's not done it for the last year, so who knows... :dk: but not had any problems with the gearbox.

thanks Mike - I'll pay more attention to when it happens - i usually start off in ECO when cold. I may have a chat with my indie if it persists.
